Lila Elliston, our President, joins the meeting from the break out room at 6.09 pm. Busi Mlotshwa and other members, join in as well after closing the break out rooms.

Lila moved to Adopt the agenda; Harry Sangha seconded it. Poll launched and was carried.

1.    Treasurer’s report presented by Lila Elliston, by sharing her screen.  The report was adopted and carried.

2.    Plurality (for the election of Delegates and Alternates) – Ranking system was adopted and carried.

3.    Operational Expenses: The Local budgeted for $6000 towards Communication, which includes Zoom account, laptops, software, anti-virus, office supplies, printing, etc.  Carried.

4.    Gift cards: That the Local will purchase $20 gift cards for all members (total of 2018 members currently), which will cost approximately $40,000. Carried.

5.    Interim vacancy for the Treasurer:  Nomination prior to two weeks before the next
GMM (in March 2022), when the election for the new Treasurer is going to be held. Carried. 

6.    Alternates expenses: 7 Alternates – Expenses have to be covered by the Local – Was allotted $10, 000.  (Accommodation, food, mileage, parking etc – Time off/wages will not be covered). 
Only Delegate expenses are covered by OPSEU head office for their Time – Off and other expenses.  Carried. 

A total of $56,000 has been approved by the GMM so far.
